Cindy Brown
Chemistry lab work

Cindy Brown, a science teacher at Knox County Schools' Career Magnet Academy, received a 2023 SeER award to enhance her chemistry lab with a Vernier Go Direct Melt Station. This equipment allows students to conduct "forensic mysteries" investigations by analyzing chemical melt points to identify unknown substances, preparing students for science fairs, meeting state standards, and providing career preparation for pharmaceuticals, materials science, and law enforcement fields.
